Use smartctl (from smartmontools) to see HD temperature (and a bunch of other HD data):
smartctl -A /dev/sda
and look for "Temperature_Celsius" line. The last column is the temperature.

If you're lucky, you can check /proc/acpi/temperature for temperature information too .
