I have a problem with my Linux boxes...
The video (doesn't matter if i'm using xine or mplayer) is stopping for a while when i'm maximizing/minimizing windows to kicker...
I've checked this on two different systems and the same problem occured:
-Arch Linux with KDEmod 3.5.7 and "nvidia" driver
-Kubuntu with KDE 3.5.6 and "fglrx" driver
Is it a common issue? How can i solve this?

Why are those two drivers are different? Did you try it in two different machine?

exactly... i tried on two different machines...
i was just wondering if other people have the same problem... or maybe it is a KDE related problem ?

Could you, please, check if the problem exists in your KDEs?

Not at all! Maybe you can try to run the video player on console and check the output and paste here.

I tested this, I played a video in SMplayer, and also opened a Konqueror window of home next to it.
Whenever the minimize/unminimize animation was on, the video paused. Nothing big.

It's not a problem if u use only one screen... I tried to watch a movie using a TV as screen 1, and do something else on my LCD using screen 0.
And I just can't do both, cause whenever I try to minimize/maximize, the video stops...
@Vulture:
there are no messages in the console during this stops...

I was able to reproduce this, but not with my default settings. ;3
The solution to this is quite simple, and very plausible unless you are a huge fan of the little minimise/restore animation that is default in KDE. I am not a fan of that, so I had it off by default, and therefore minimising/restoring my windows does not affect video playback.
Soo, a solution for this(until KDE4 comes out and they have this fixed, or something like that) is to simply disable the animation for minimise/restore. To do it, open the control panel, then go to Desktop -> Window Behaviour and click the "Moving" tab. At this point, you should see a checkbox labled "Animate minimise and restore" a wee bit down the page. Uncheck that, hit apply, and you will be good to go. Cheers.

Thanks... I think this is the only working solution
