[solved]Suspend2 does not power down but puts laptop in standby...

Yes, I've set "PowerdownMethod" in /etc/hibernate/suspend2.conf;
I use the filewriter;
Suspending and resuming works fine;

What else can I say...
When I "hibernate" the computer does not turn off but is in standby-like state, with a little orange LED glowing. But it's not as if I suspended to ram. When I turn the computer back on, it boots from the beginning and I'm put into grub.

Any suggestions how I can really make him turning off?

They say if you reverse play a Windows CD you can hear satanic verses... But wanna know what's even worse? If you forward play it, it's gonna install Windows on your system!

if it boots from the beginning, bios and all, it sounds like it is going to sleep properly. My laptop for example flashes it's suspend light a few times before going off with suspend2, so presumably suspend is calling some bios level suspend calls, maybe that's what causing your light to continue flashing?

I found the "problem" today... it's remarkably simple. I just didn't notcie because my laptop is still very new.

When the AC-Adapter is plugged-in, the standby-LED is always glowin, no matter if I suspend or halt the system. Suspending on batteries let's the light go off.
