Volumes get lost on replug

I've got a USB soundcard (which uses module snd_usb_audio). I stored volumes in /etc/asound.state using `alsactl store` and alsa sets them successfully only when it starts: when I unplug and replug the audiocard volumes get set to bad values and I'm forced to restart alsa or reset them manually.
Is there any way to make alsa reset those volumes automatically, when the soundcard gets plugged in?

You'd have to play with udev rules.
