The ID3 tags displayed in banshee for loaded mp3's always end in a comma... has anyone else had this problem?

well i used gstreamer0.10-mad instead and it worked fine for playing back mp3's, but still have that same problem with importing mp3s. actually, i tried removing gstreamer completely and found the commas were still added so it is an issue with banshee directly. well i think i will switch to rhythmbox now.

when i imported my ipod, some of the songs had commas at the end of them, but simply editing them and removing the unwanted characters worked. I think it may have to do with either auto imported meta data, or something else...
about the gstreamer issues, do you have gstreamer0.10-mad installed? i know that they have to do with mp3s, as rhythmbox will not play them without it.

...now I installed it and it works!
But some of the songs still have those damn commas =/
Edit:
I'm glad I found out Amarok also works with my iPod Shuffle Now I won't have to deal with those mean commas any more xD

still doesnt answer the question as to why banshee adds those silly commas...

just did some research and the reason that they have commas at the end is because
It's triggered by files using standard-breaking null-termination of ID3v2 tags, making taglib think there's another field.

This bug is already reported to the Banshee Bugzilla for some time. See http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=410116 for details and patches. Personally, I use Ubuntu/Debian patch extracted from http://ftp.debian.org/debian/pool/main/ … -3.diff.gz.
