Recent Update Killed one of my cd drives?

Well, this is new, I have two drives, one, DVD+RW, and the other is just DVD+R, the DVD+R reads faster than my other drive and I usually use that for reading, but after this recent update, containing of filesystems and kernel upgrades, my DVD+R drive fails to read any cd, I insert a cd, and nothing happens, if I put it in my DVD+RW drive, everything is cool. I don't really know how to go about this problem, so any help would be much appreciated.

Side note, DMESG shows ntohing when I insert a cd into my DVD+R drive, but when inserting into my DVD+RW drive I get the normal message:

ISO 9660 Extensions: Microsoft Joliet Level 1
ISOFS: changing to secondary root

edit:
Seems filesystem update removed my /mnt/cd directory, simply recreating this directory fixed my problem. I'll leave this topic incase someone else has same issue.
