cpuinfo showing only one processor

Hey guys, I just got a new motherboard( cheapass Biostar P4M80-M4) and I'm having problems getting SMP working/figuring out if its working. Doing a `cat /proc/cpuinfo` shows that I only have a processor 0. I am absolutely sure that this processor supports hyperthreading. Hyperthreading is enabled in BIOS and POST confirms this by saying that an HT processor is detected and HT is enabled. The noapic kernel flag is not being set. Booting into DSL shows that I have 2 processes. Any thoughts or ideas? Thanks.

I would check dmesg | less, or view /var/log/messages.log. You can check here to see if the kernal brought up one or two processors.  What version of Arch are you running?

Re: cpuinfo showing only one processor

oh yeah i forgot to mention that I'm running stock kernel 2.6.21.

$ dmesg | grep -i processor
Intel MultiProcessor Specification v1.4
Processor #0 15:3 APIC version 17
Processors: 1
Detected 3089.608 MHz processor.
Checking if this processor honours the WP bit even in supervisor mode... Ok.
CPU: Physical Processor ID: 0
Total of 1 processors activated (6186.46 BogoMIPS).

so it is only bringing up one processor?
