System hangs when reiserf partition is loaded on boot.

I have never come across this problem, so I thought I'd check with you guys.

60GB Disk partitions:

/dev/hda1 /              1000MB    EXT3
/dev/hda2 <swap>   512MB      EXT3
/dev/hda3 /usr         5000MB    EXT3
/dev/hda5 /var         5000MB    EXT3
/dev/hda6 /export    (remaining)  Reiserfs

The system hangs on Loading UDEV when hda6 is mounted on boot.  This is however resolved when /export is commented out on/etc/fstab.  Checked disk with reiserfschk for errors, nothing found.

Is there a reason for this to occur?
Why mounting a disk at boot time triggers hang and not when mounted (and accessed) while systems is running?

Thanks.

Re: System hangs when reiserf partition is loaded on boot.

Large Reiserfs filesystems are known to be slow to mount. Not consistently, just "sometimes". It's one of the reasons I don't use it wink
