Found a major bug in Arch ...

Everything is so easy to operate in Arch and it almost always works the way it should. It has left me with extra time to do things like go to the store, clean up the apartment, and cook.

Now that everything that was once intimidating and difficult is now simple and easy, uncomplicated tasks such as launching a program or running a manual updatedb has gotten relatively much harder and very time-consuming. Where can I file a bug report?

updatedb depends on how fast you hard disk is and how many files you have. It's always been time consuming here. That's normal.

hehe, I feel the same way. I'm used to spending most of my time keeping the system running and up to date. Arch has reduced that time spent so much I find myself becoming bored. Not that I'm complaining, it just means more time for World of Warcraft

You should really complain in the bug-tracker, if Arch doesn't cook or cleans up your apartment

Arch is brilliant. Updating the whole distribution takes me about 10 minutes a day. The rest can be spent upon browsing the web or playing around with cool FOSS features.

I can only agree . Since switching to Arch I feel like I got too much time on my hands sometime .

Anyway, that way I can learn LPI and stuff, so I'm grateful .

Also, mlocate breaks pacdiffviewer. apprently it doesn't support locate -u

Ah yeah! I should have thought of that. This bug has been really getting the best of me and the solution was so simple!

What if you go into one of those table-dancing-bars but want to check your e-mails? In this case executing "/etc/rc.d/runawayd start" is very useful!

BTT: Yeah, I know this big bug... But I found another one: Arch is boring! My SuSE 9.3 was almost always broken as I wanted to use the newest packages but they were only provided for 10/10.1. But now almost all problems are solved either within five minutes searching in the board or waiting for an update coming out soon... Wouldn't it be possible to include a random-error-script to arch, so you have to search every now and then for the error it produced (e.g. broken xorg.conf/rc.conf or some kind of "rm -rf /" so you have to repair your system partly or completely)?

Lucky you guys My arch ain't that stable

I can no longer burn cds/dvds (no idea what's wrong) also I get lockups during heavy load and my viper kernel really hates me...
Also I just used gparted on my /home mount and now I get odd error messages at boot time but it boots anyway

EDIT: The thing is that I don't feel like fixing this now since I'm gonna buy a new comp as soon as I get my salary So atm these things are just annoying...
