3com PCMCIA Ethernet card help needed...

Hi y'all,

i just got hold of an ancient Compaq Evo N160 laptop. Unfortunately, its built-in Ethernet adapter is faulty, so i have to use a PCMCIA (CardBus) adapter by 3com, which works in windows. The thing is, it doesn't work in Arch, at least not out of the box. What do i have to do to make it show up in ifconfig? TIA.

I have an old laptop with a similar adapter (10MBit 3com on PCMCIA). I'll check it out tonight as I don't have it with me right now.

Thanks, you no longer have to. I just tried 'ifconfig eth1 up' and now it works! tongue
