just thought i would let the packager of the phoenix build in incoming know that it crashes when using flash. generally i hate flash but in order to actually view some of my favorite sites i need flash.
i dunno if anyone has had the same problems and fixed them but i figured that posting would be the best way of finding out.

Hmm, that's strange, because it works fine for me. Could you please point me to that sites that make phoenix crash? By the way, how did you install flash? I just copyed over mozilla's plugin files.
Anyway, thanks for pointing this problem out sarah

no offense sarah31, but i think that the problem is in your particular setup. I tryed everything - reloading, clicking, backing up - nothing worked (crashed phoenix it is). i'm sorry i don't know how to help you

okay but all i did was install it then copy the plugins over. so other than that i don't see how it could be my setup.

okay well i solved the flash issue but it required me to move up to mozilla 1.3b. something i was not keen on because now to build unofficial packages that use moz i have to switch back
or if i wanna tryout phoenix i have to install 1.3b

Mozilla crashes for me with any sites with Flash - so I'll try the Mozilla 1.3b route n see if thats a help.
EDIT: Okay - found my problem and it wasnt flash nor Mozilla's fault. If you use "extensions" then make sure you grab the latest on offer.. I am not sure which one was causing the crash - as I updated all - but I spose I can go thru one by one and find the faulty file.

What are extensions? Flash seems to work find on smaller sites, but the entire reason I installed it was so my son can play on http://www.disney.com and nothing i've tried seems able to handle it. I thought it was mozilla so I installed opera and had the same problem. I was now in the process of installing Netscape 7.02, came on here because it couldn't find: libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.2. Sounds like Netscape may not fix the problem even if I can get it installed.
Thanks for any tips..
