amarok with xine-engine

How do I switch to my other audio device? Cant find it in the settings.

I have two sound cards, usually I play music on the one where I have my main speakers connected, but I switch over to the other one where I have my headphones connected, so I don't wake up the neighbors.

Used xmms previously but want to give amarok a good try. smile

Re: amarok with xine-engine

I use alsa backend for my external sound card and oss for internal. It's in engine settings.

Re: amarok with xine-engine

Well thats a crappy solution. even mplayer can select which card to use with -ao alsa device=hw=1.0

Anyways, I found that one can indeed change the sound card by changing in Engine settings in the box "ALSA Device Configuration" where it says Stereo: default
one should change default to plughw:1,0
then change back to default or even plughw:0,0 to use the first card.

This is really badly documented.

You can set it in ~/.kde/share/apps/amarok/xine-config  wink
