Hello, I am looking to install Arch but before hand I'd like some info on the 64bit version. On previous distro's I've tried the 64bit version but been dissapointed when trying to install drivers etc and getting errors due to some things not being available on the 64bit version.
Does this happen with Arch? Will I encounter similar issues?
I guess what I'm asking is, will I have less hassle running the 32bit version?
Many thanks!

well, theres a bit of hassle with java and flash but other than that i dont feel that arch64 is really missing anything.
you are saying that this is your first time with Arch, i would say try the i686 version, get the feel for it, maybe that will be satisfactory for you, then if youre dying to go 64bit then maybe try arch64. thats how i went about it but others may say just take the plunge and try arch64 right off the bat.
best of luck,

Arch64 as any other non-x86 OS has some problems with proprietary software, but i've got opera, flash and skype running - that's all i need

I finally made the switch to 64 bit for every day use. I have been able to get flash, wine, and acroread working using lib32 and using nswrapperplugin for integration of flash and acroread in 64 bit Firefox. I haven't had any issues with flash, but I don't use it much anyway.
If you need applications that are only available as 32 bit, I would recommend installing the 32 bit version. However, if you don't need the 32 bit applications, 64 bit would be the way to go.
Or you can do like I did, install both and try them both out and then decide.
