[AUR] FrostWire

Hi!

I've uploaded a pkgbuild I made for my own to build FrostWire!
You can find it on AUR, please vote!
It's a nice program you will like if you use Guntella2...

You will also see that you can install it with my repo if you need an up to date version wink

Thanks and vote cool

Re: [AUR] FrostWire

Is your build different from the Frostwire in the Unstable repo?

http://www.archlinux.org/packages/search/?q=frostwire

It's always good to check all repos before building your own packages.

You have to add the unstable repos to pacman.conf to see it. Something like this:

[unstable]
Server = ftp://ftp.archlinux.org/unstable/os/i686

Or you can just find it at archlinux.org/packages, and follow the CVS link.

Re: [AUR] FrostWire

Why is this in Unstable rather than the AUR?

Re: [AUR] FrostWire

Could we have it in a stable repo? tongue
I use it since a long time and I didn't see any bug smile

Re: [AUR] FrostWire

I moved Frostwire from Extra to Unstable because, although I agree that the application is stable, there have been inconsistencies between releases which I believe make it unsuitable for our stable repos. To give one example of which you are already aware, the current 4.13.1.7 release expands into a 4.13.1.6 directory. There have been several other errors over the last few releases which only serve to make packaging more difficult than it should be, and to create a less than ideal impression of the Frostwire project as a whole.

It should also be noted that although the Arch Unstable repo provides packages that may be unstable in themselves, none of them will cause any general system instability on your machine. There is also no package overlap between Unstable and any other repo, so it is perfectly safe to enable the repo for Frostwire, or any other package provided there.
