[SOLVED] GDM Greeter problem ...
GDM upon startup keeps flashing and then says "The greeter application appears to be crashing".
Any idea how to solve this? I have searched the forums but can not find a solution that works.

Try re-setting permissions on the tmp folder:
(as root)
chmod -R 1777 /tmpOffline
