(solved) Timezone set, but time is wrong

I cannot adjust the gnome clock to allow me to get the right time to display. I have already set the timezone in the rc.conf but I still receive the wrong time.

what time does bios show? you may need to change it

If you havn't rebooted, you need to symlink /usr/share/zoneinfo/your/time/zone to /etc/localtime, then use date ntpdate or similar to update the clock.

Well that was it, never looked at the time in the bios before, sure enough though I updated it and it was working. Thanks.
