new hard drive technologies - ssd, hybrid..

hey, i recently found out about these new hard drive technologies and was wondering if anyone has tried them with linux yet?  the hybrid drives seem pretty cool, using the 1 gb flash cache to increase boot times and decrease platter movements on the hard drive.  right now they are supposedly only compatible with vista which seems like propaganda to me, anyone try one yet?

and the solid state drives seem to me to be what everyone will have in a few years - basically just a big flash drive!  these are really expensive right now and with these i don't really see a problem using them with linux.
