My USB mouse doesn't always start at boot.

After updating from Arch 0.7.1 to 0.8, one of the big pile of bugs I had was that my USB mouse doesn't always start at boot. In fact, when I start the computer, the red LED in the mouse lights up but sometimes it switches off after the menu where I can choose to use Arch linux or .. Arch linux.

So, the mouse switches off before I startx one time on two. When it happens I just deplug and replug it but I hate to do that.

Need some help.

Re: My USB mouse doesn't always start at boot.

Have a look in dmesg - compare the output when it works with the output when it doesn't.

Re: My USB mouse doesn't always start at boot.

I have a similar problem here: I had to exchange my PS/2 mouse to a new mouse connected via USB. The driver is not always loaded during boot. If I unplug the mouse and reconnect it, the driver is loaded automatically and the USB mouse works. But I don't want to crawl behind the PC to do that again and again...

Are there any configuration entries I must change? rc.conf, mkinitcpio.conf?

I set the modules to "autoload" in rc.conf. Shall I manually load modules / must I put them in a specific order?
Can I combine specific module loads with autoload for the rest?

Thanks for tipps,
Dieter
