GLIBCXX_3.4.9' not found (required by /opt/kde/lib/libkritaimage.so.1)

When I'm trying to run krita I got this error:

koffice (lib kofficecore): WARNING: /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.9' not found (required by /opt/kde/lib/libkritaimage.so.1)

for inkscape I get this:

inkscape: /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.9' not found (required by /usr/lib/libglibmm-2.4.so.1)

So where is problem here? I was thinking that all dependencies is solved with install. What's the catch, I cannot find solution.

they need to be rebuilt, or you need to update with pacman -Syu

Yes - our distro assumes you keep things up to date; that's the point of the rolling release system.  If you're keeping old versions of packages on your system, this is bound to happen eventually - you go to install a new app, and it links against new libraries, so you have to update those libraries, but those libraries have dependencies that need to update as well, and so on and so on - it gets to the point where you might as well just update your whole system.

OR you end up rebuilding a bunch of stuff on your local system just to keep compatibility with older libs.

I suppose either way works, but the second sounds like a lot more work to me.

I am aware of that, but I need get used to it.This is only distro with xorg 7.2 where I was able to install  ATi 8.37.6 drivers without problems. On other distro's like Fedora 7,Ubuntu 7.04 won't work. It work's on PCLinuxOS 2007 (xorg 7.1) and Vector linux 5.8 SOHO (but older xorg 6.9, and without CCC) though.
All in all, great distro, keep up the good work big_smile
I take your advice Cerebral ("but the second sounds like a lot more work to me", no way Jose,I take short way than lol). pacman -Syu everything went fine cool Inkscape and Krita works. big_smile
