keeping /home partition after reinstall

Hi,

I want to switch the OS on my home server from fedora to arch. I thought I might change the OS one day and so mounted /home as a separate partition. There is one other 20GB partition for fedora. I want to keep all the files on my /home partition and I heard that you can usually just mount /home in the new OS and everything is fine, but I just want to check that there is nothing I need to do or change. Can I just wipe the 20GB partition and install arch on it?

Thanks,

Yes, the only thing you will probably have to do is change the user/owner of your ~. Just make sure to not format /home  in the installer.
