Hi,
my internetconnection where I live now is closing tomorrow for the rest of the month, so I'll have to use my mobile phone to get online through grps. I know this will be very slow and expensive, so I was thinking about using another browser that doesn't load so much.
Or, how could I easily configure firefox to not load flash and java ?

you can try noscript (http://noscript.net/), an extension for firefox

I use the NoScript/Adblock combo and everything gets blocked by default (or is easily blocked for the future).
Both are available from mozilla's official addons.

If you can find a machine outside to play with, there are some interesting possibilities.
- you can try RabbIT - web proxy, that tries to minimize bandwidth use (removes ads, uses gzip transport encoding, converts images to low-quality jpeg...)
- or, with ssh tunnelling and compression features, you can connect to normal web-proxy and have the traffic compressed
Or maybe use service like skweezer.
Or combine these ways.

Thanks for advise!
The skweezer seems very easy to use, so I'll try that for starter. Also installed noscript and that will help alot also. I'll try them tomorrow when I have no more internet at home.
