Truecrypt doesn't want to work

I'm trying to setup a truecrypt volume on a 60gb partition. Following the wiki to make a hidden volume, I'm getting stuck at mapping the volume.

# truecrypt -N 1 /dev/sda2
Enter password for '/dev/sda2':
device-mapper: reload ioctl failed: Invalid argument
Command failed

In my dmesg there's the following:

device-mapper: table: 254:0: truecrypt: truecrypt: Device lookup failed
device-mapper: ioctl: error adding target to table
device-mapper: ioctl: device doesn't appear to be in the dev hash table.

truecrypt is loaded _until_ I try to map it, then the module unloads itself.

I used the following to create the volume:

# truecrypt --type normal -c /dev/sda2

and picked the defaults. I am not using a keyfile.

Any idea how to get this working? I'd try remaking it, but it took an hour (at 100% CPU, couldn't use computer) and I'd like to see if there's isn't some easy fix I missed before I do that.

Re: Truecrypt doesn't want to work

A small update:
I tried remaking using different settings, and while it took longer (about 3 hours)... still no go, same error.

Am I the only one that has ran into this issue with truecrypt? hmm
