Openbox question..

Im using openbox with pypanel and the rab patch.
Pypanel is set to display on the bottom (i couldnt put it on top cause maximized windows would always show UNDER pypanel..)
When set to the bottom maximized windows loose about 10 pixels or so under the panel.. which isnt quite as unmanageable.

I have a few questions:

1. is there a way to set margins that applications will follow when maximized?
2. why is it that maximized windows respect pypanels existance before but not AFTER the patch
3.  is there a way to solve number 2 that i am not finding in the configs anywhere?
