Arch on HP dv6436nr notebook

I just got a good deal on an HP dv6436nr notebook with a Turion64 X2 TI-56, 2GB DDR, 160GB HDD and GeForce GO 6150 graphics. Does anyone else use this setup with Arch Linux? The device came pre-loaded with Windows Vista Home Premium and I would really like to put Arch on it.

Also, this model only has the HDD restore partition, no discs. How can I backup this partition before starting to play around with linux?

Re: Arch on HP dv6436nr notebook

There should be recovery dvd creation utility in vista. If you have problems with arch hanging on boot read my dv6018 guide, trick with module loading order may help: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/HP_Pavilion_dv6018
