Name lookup failure for "cvs.archlinux.org" msg

I am behind the proxy and try to run abs command and getting

Name lookup failure for "cvs.archlinux.org" msg

I tried export http_proxy ftp_proxy and cannot get to connect to obtain the abs...
ne idea?

maybe add an opton fro it in /etc/hosts
