Keymapping wrong

Hi

I have a really weird problem..

3 days ago I updated my arch system fully with pacman, and following that my "keycode 10", is mapped wrong.

The key has a "1" pictured and should give and exclamation mark when pressed with shift. (but i cant make exclam now..)

Instead the key results in "5" and "%" when pressed with shift..

I have a danish keyboard and both the xmodmap.dk and  the ../i386/qwerty/dk-latin1.map.gz are proper and uncompromized looking just as they should...

Anyone has any idea whats wriong and how it happended???? I really dont get it... Has it something to do with the update??

It might be related that my box previously was named "duke" and now its renamed dhcppc1 ??

Hope someone can help...  wink

Re: Keymapping wrong

sounds like you're rc.conf was backed up and not restored ... check /etc for rc.conf.pacsave . you most likely need to copy/move it back to /etc/rc.conf

Re: Keymapping wrong

Thanks for the answer

That doesn't seem to be the issue, i have the following rc.conf's:

  4 -rw-r--r--  1 root root   1498 2004-02-25 01:25 raidtab.pacsave
  4 -rw-r--r--  1 root root   2925 2006-09-18 17:04 rc.conf
  4 -rw-r--r--  1 root root   2855 2007-05-13 16:00 rc.conf.pacnew
  4 -rw-r--r--  1 root root   2903 2006-08-30 01:02 rc.conf~
  1 drwxr-xr-x  2 root root   1232 2007-06-19 01:28 rc.d
  4 -rwxr-xr-x  1 root root     68 2006-05-09 20:13 rc.local
  4 -rwxr-xr-x  1 root root     68 2007-05-13 16:00 rc.local.pacnew
  4 -rwxr-xr-x  1 root root     66 2007-01-29 23:25 rc.local.shutdown
  4 -rwxr-xr-x  1 root root    514 2007-05-13 16:00 rc.multi
  4 -rwxr-xr-x  1 root root   2873 2007-05-13 16:00 rc.shutdown
  4 -rwxr-xr-x  1 root root   1650 2007-05-13 16:00 rc.single
12 -rwxr-xr-x  1 root root  11577 2007-05-13 16:00 rc.sysinit
  4 -rw-r--r--  1 root root     90 2007-06-21 00:39 resolv.conf
  4 -rw-r--r--  1 root root     49 2007-06-17 03:43 resolv.conf.sv

and the one you mentioned isn't there, and the other has an too old timestamp..

Regards

Christian

Re: Keymapping wrong

Does the problem you have only occur in X?

Might be worth loading a DE such as Gnome and using the builtin Keyboard Layout setting to change to Danish.

Alternatively, check your xorg.conf for xkbdlayout option

Hope that helps!!
