Re: Getting a GUI

Thank you all once again, it worked. Not a final problem

Gnome doesn't seem to care whether or not .xinitrc exits. Problem is I'd like to be able to start up xfce, but gnome loads up automatically as soon as the computer is turned on...Do i have to change all the runlevels back to 3 and such?

and I get this error message every time i use pacman

warning: current locale is invalid; using default "C" locale

What does it mean?

Re: Getting a GUI

for locale. try to run locale-gen (as root) after editing /etc/locale.gen to pick your locale.
anyway it easier to use run lvl 3 and startx to start any wm/dm you want.
