[SOLVED] Cannot login as normal user

Hi to everyone,
I installed Archlinux and I have a problem. I cannot login using kdm with a normal user. Only root can log in using kdm?
What's the problem?
Thx Mauro

Have you made a regular user? After install you've got only root and you need to setup the regular users yourself.

If that's not the problem: what error does kdm give you?

Re: [SOLVED] Cannot login as normal user

The /tmp directory was only writable by the owner (root). It's probably a bug of the installer.
Thx Mauro

Re: [SOLVED] Cannot login as normal user

This happened to me before.

I believe it doesn't happen if you do a system upgrade using pacman -Suy before installing anything else. Perhaps it is the permissions issue with the previous version of pacman, anounced in arch homepage - I really don't know.

In any case, it only happened to me when I didn't do this previous system upgrade
