Do you use Fluxbox and aterm? (maximizing problem)

I have Fluxbox 0.9.15.1-gentoo-r2 on an old Gentoo system that maximizes windows perfectly taking up all the screen and sitting right on top of the toolbar.  The toolbar has 'maximize over' OFF.  The slit has 'maximize over' ON.  And I turn 'click raises' OFF.  This is EXACTLY!! I want it to work.

But, in Fluxbox 1.0rc3 on Arch (2.6.21-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT), aterm (V 1.0) refuses to maximize  the same as it does in the fluxbox .9 system (aterm 0.4).  Specifically, it sits a few pixels on top of the toolbar. 

Any chance you fluxbox/aterm users tell me how aterm maximizes on your systems, and let me know how our systems are set up?   I'm trying to isolate if the problem is aterm, fluxbox, my os, or something else.

Why does this bug me?  I use 'mouse focus', and like to maximize all my app windows.  Then, I use the toolbar (or keyboard shortcuts) to switch between open windows.   But, with mouse focus, if one app doesn't maximize tight to the toolbar (aterm), then windows under it get 'selected' whenever i float over it on route to the toolbar to choose it.  Because I don't use 'auto raise', it is still behind, but selected now.  If I then click the toolbar to raise it it gets minimized instead, because it was selected. 

This is somewhat hard to explain.  Anyone have any similar experience?  I haven't seen this happen on any other app windows yet - firefox, openoffice.

I just checked, I have the same thing with aterm, urxvt and xterm, but I've also managed to realize out why it happens.
Fluxbox (at least the 1.0rc versions) always seems to resize the terminals by row-height and character-size, so if for example one row was 10 pixels high, and you were running at a resolution of 1280x1024, Fluxbox would resize the window to show 102 rows and leave a space of 4 pixels at the bottom (not taking window borders or the toolbar into account) when the terminal is maximized.

It must be a bug in fluxbox, ya think?  I have 1280x1024 going with fluxbox .9, and the same fonts with aterm as in my test on fluxbox 1.0rc3.  The .9 version resizes aterm perfectly.

It could be a bug or a feature, I don't see any mention of it in the changelogs, but I couldn't find any mention of it in their bug-tracker either, so my guess is that it's a "feature", just not important enough to be worth mentioning in the changelogs.

I'm not having any luck getting anyone to chat about it on their irc channel.
I'm not sure looking at different *boxes or other lightweight vm's is premature
or not.  I use mouse focus.  If there must be a gap, I would rather have it at the
top.  Perhaps I just need to mess around with different fonts, I dunno.

I remember having this same issue when Fluxbox was my WM.
I know I had to fiddle with the stylefile, sorry I don't remember exactly what I did, it's a long time ago.. But I think you should browse your stylefile for hints.

Try to get to tenner on #fluxbox or #fluxmod, he is the styleGOD.
