I've change recently my system form Gentoo to ArchLinux. I can't revert it because backups are few tousends km from me. I have problems with connecting to my campus WiFi(open; no WPA; no WEP) network:
- scanning ath0 sometimes discover 4 hotspots of this network and 2 others sometimes nothing
- dhcpcd just timeout. If I connect from computer's room by cable(now) it's ok.
What's wrong? I've tried standard connecting, wpa_supplicant and networkmanager.
I've probably left my head... somewhere. Please wait untill I find it.

Does this help?

Yes but it's rather temporary solution as far as I understend (I'll check it carefully - now I'm attached to cable and have to use it as long as possible ). After august weeks I'll have to manage suspend + 2 WiFi networks - in such case the only solution would be change distro(for example back to Gentoo).
Unfortunatly putting essid's in config is not a solution - I'd have to change it twice a day.
