Re: cant start gnome

libcrypto belongs to openssl ... `pacman -S openssl` .... the current version is 0.9.8 .. if the problem persists .. you may try `ln -s /usr/lib/libcrypto.so.0.9.8 /usr/lib/libcrypto.so.0.9.7`

Re: cant start gnome

Those two library versions are quite different. Probably you need to rebuild nautilus.

Re: cant start gnome

Rebuild? Don't think so. Your system is half upgraded to newer libraries that are incompatible with your old programs. Upgrade the full system instead of only a few packages.

Re: cant start gnome

I was assuming from the OP's use of the word "rebuild" that there was some source-based installation on the OP's machine.

Re: cant start gnome

if you're still having problems with unknown symbols when your system is completely up2date, go look for old left behind libraries that nautilus tries to link with.

Re: cant start gnome

Had the same problem a while ago
check to see what mirror pacman is syncing on and then check to make sure it has upto date packages.
In my case the mirror was lagging way behind and would only do a half upgrade.

Re: cant start gnome

I think you should take Kenetixx's advice, check your pacman mirrors in /etc/pacman.d/
It's possible you have a mirror that is very outdated, also make sure you are using the same mirror for all of your repositories.
