Hi to all,
I'm trying to install arch on an Asus L7200 series laptop (PII 266Mhz). On this laptop I've tried a lot of live distros like
dsl knoppix elive and everyone starts. I've also installed dsl on the hard disk. When I insert the Arch's cd I obtain always, even with different boot options:
loading vlinuz....................
loading intrd.img....................
(and at the very beginnig)
start_kernel+0x3e5 / 0x4d0
unknown_boot_option+0x0/0x260
(lines of couple of exadecimal numbers)
kernel panic-not syncing:Attemped to kill the idle task!
Can I do something?
I hope you understand my 'not so good' english. Thanks. Paolo

i think you need ate least 96MB of ram to boot

If that's the case (lack of RAM), you might try installing Arch using archboostrap - although I'm not sure whether it still works. There's more information on different ways of installing in the wiki, I believe.

This could really be the problem. I've only 64MB of ram. Thanks
