BOMB DIGGITY I GOT IT TO WORK! I finally solved the Cedega mystery and it runs! And it couldn't run better! Smooth as butter on a hot pan! I told my buddies that I could get FEAR running on linux if I tried hard enough, but they just laughed at me ... what they don't know is that it's installing via Cedega right now The more I sink into this stuff, the more I get out of it, haha.
Can't wait till the next LAN party ...

If I understand you correctly, you're running ut2k4 within cedega. Why would you that? I always thought UT was one of the few games that runs natively under Lunix. IIRC they even ship the Linux installer on the install CD/DVDs.

Yes. ut2k4 works natively under Linux with OpenGL API.

Yeah and if you should manage to get FEAR running, then please let us know how. I bet a couple thousand other users would be interested too, because as for right now, installing works, yeah. But it doesn't run.

I don't play UT, in Linux or in an emulator. I don't use Cedega.
But despite native UT or not I say...
You had problems with it, worked on it and solved it.
Congratulations
