Hi, do somebody here know where can I get the gfxboot patch for grub?... I'm looking fordward to use it (and make a pkgbuild for the rest of course), but I cannot find the patch

gfxboot is nasty and poorly done. I looked into this at some point. I believe you need to get the patches from SuSe somewhere...

That's not gfxboot
gfxboot is what the Ubuntu live cds use...
It looks like this:
Which is awesome and all... except for this. Here is how you "make a theme": http://dev.gentoo.org/~dberkholz/splash … me-ubuntu/
Enjoy writing a theme for that pile of crap.

no, thank you, I'm not brain dead and I don't want to be, still there's people that put themselves in the risk of becoming a zombie by means of head-exploding that have done some nice ones...

I also look at it at some point, but get stuck with the complexity of patches and auxiliary programs needed for it to work.
I do not think it is crap. Bad docummented, yes, complex, yes, but crap, no. It provides some features that the original grub splashimage patch lacks like support for 256 or hi-color images, fancy menus, no menu corruption (fixed also in Fedora 6 grub splashimage patches).
While it is used in many distributions like Ubuntu, Mepis, I suggest going directly to the original source, SuSE srpms.
