A couple of questions about Intel 950 graphics card

I've been searching for a while but I can't get a good answer on this one. I spent 2 years with Ubuntu, and things are a done a little different in Arch, so I'm still finding my way.

I want to get 1400x1050 resolution (or 1280x1024), and I followed the instructions on the wiki page on 915resolution but when I start X all I get is 800x600, ie, I lose my 1024x780, which I have now.

The other thing is that I can't get compiz fusion to work, and I can't find any answer on this one. It's the famous "GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap missing" error.

Many thanks

Re: A couple of questions about Intel 950 graphics card

I got it working now big_smile

Now all i have to do is get my sound working. It seems that Packard Bell choses all the devices that are problematic with Linux cool It only make it cooler

I would also LOVE to have my hotkeys working but I guess that's a stretch sad

Got some Intel HDA stuff? Thats really annoying setup atleast with realtek chip. And by using xf86-video-intel from testing there isn't any need for special tricks anymore.

Re: A couple of questions about Intel 950 graphics card

If I remember correctly method in this thread http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=32921 did it. Some people say that they just put some options when modprobing snd-hda-intel etc and it works. Dunno for sure, its a mysterious device, everything depends off the position of moon.

Webcam depends on what chip you have, though those drivers tend to be experimental, check this:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/m560x-driver/ If you happen to have one of those chipsets. Fingerprint scanner same thing.
