kaffeine problem

When i start kaffeine, I get the following error msg:

"Loading of palyer part 'XinePart' failed."
And kaffeine does not work.
The same file is played by noatun / gxine.

How to get rid of this?

Same problem here...

@amadlopes: You can uninstall the new package with pacman -R kaffeine and then look at /var/cache/pacman/pkg for the old one and install it by running pacman -A [the_path_to_the_old_package]

Re: kaffeine problem

xine-lib-1.1.7-2 solves the problem.

[root@archport amadlopes]# pacman -S xine-lib
:: xine-lib-1.1.7-1: local version is up to date. Upgrade anyway? [Y/n] n

Re: kaffeine problem

What I did to solve the problem, after reading the Flyspray report, was to recompile xine-lib 1.1.7 with xcb support by adding it to the depends line of the PKGBUILD. Recompile and viola! after upgrading the existing xine-lib, no more problems.

You need to wait until your mirror syncs. And use the -y option to update your local db:
# pacman -Sy xine-lib

Re: kaffeine problem

On my laptop i'm using kaffeine 0.8.4 and works.

Today i upgrade my desktop to kaffeine 0.8.5 and xine-lib-1.1.7-3 (i think from testing) and it has an other problem.

'The specified file or url was not found. Please check it. (/home/amadlopes/Desktop/5.mpg)'

'Resource can not be opened (/home/amadlopes/Desktop/5.mpg)
18:27:03: input_file: File not found: >/home/amadlopes/Desktop/5.mpg<
18:27:03: xine: found input plugin : file input plugin'

i think i'm going to downgrade to 0.8.4 and 1.1.7-3.

Re: kaffeine problem

Same problem here. It's not problem with xine-lib. It's problem with new Kaffeine 0.8.5. I solved it with downgrade to 0.8.4. lol

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
