xscreensaver has a "ERROR(UNLOCK)" button?

When I try to unlock my machine, it works okay but I see a button called "ERROR(UNLOCK)".  I tried reinstalling xscreensaver but it didn't help.  If this is a common problem I'll submit a bug.

Re: xscreensaver has a "ERROR(UNLOCK)" button?

I just posted  the comment  below on the bug tracker. If it works for you, let me know (preferably by posting a comment on the bug tracker).

==========
I think I figured out the problem.
Make sure you don't have any old XScreenSaver app-defaults files on your system. I had one on my i686 system: /etc/X11/app-defaults/XScreenSaver . Once I had removed it, the problem went away.

Do not remove /usr/share/X11/app-defaults/XScreenSaver as it's the up-to-date one that comes with the xscreensaver package.

Let me know if that fixes the problem for you.
