problems reproducing audio files

hi, i have problems reproducing .mp3 and every format..

Xmms show this error:

I could not open the audio file

check this:

your sound card it's configured well
you have the correct out plugin selected
there is not other programs blocking the sound card

it worked before... i have alsa-lib and the alsa-utils...

VLC and mplayer don't works, like xmms...

well my english its not perfect but that its my problem...

i don't now how configure the sound card and fix this problem...

Ok... i fix the problem...

it was about the card permissions..

#gpasswd -a me audio
