Beryl/Compiz with Savage card

I am wondering if I can get Beryl/Compiz working on my not so fast computer. For glxinfo | grep rendering I get:

libGL warning: 3D driver claims to not support visual 0x4b
direct rendering: Yes

I don't know what visual 0x4b is... and the output of beryl:

Re: Beryl/Compiz with Savage card

Checking for non power of two texture support   : failed

the problem is this line; I had the same problem on my thinkpad T23 (card: SuperSavage IX/C), and I wasn't able to activate Beryl/Compiz.....I've read that is not possible.....maybe today something is changed...but I doubt that.

Re: Beryl/Compiz with Savage card

Try using a different driver in your graphics section. This _might_ do the job, as I read an assumption somewhere, that the "power of two" problem is driver-related. I'm not sure if Beryl would work using 'vga' driver. Just give it a try.

If that fails, switch from AIGLX to XGL, the wiki explains how to do that. 'savage' driver seems to be unable to accelerate AIGLX items.

They say if you reverse play a Windows CD you can hear satanic verses... But wanna know what's even worse? If you forward play it, it's gonna install Windows on your system!
