Could someone (a TU maybe) adopt Ghostscript-GPL?

With the next (future) relase of Ghostscript-GPL, ESP Ghostscript (currently the default in Arch) will be merged into the GPL version. IOW, ESP will become redundant and obsolete. So if anyone would like to maintain the package, the PKGBUILD of the current release is in AUR:

I have so far detected no differences between ESP and GPL version functionality-wise. I'm using it as the default on my system, because of the supposed benefit of being better supported by Scribus. So, it could probably already replace ghostscript, but I hear ESP has had better support for hplip and printer drivers.

Well, since the last version (8.6), ESP and GPL have definitely merged (maybe even in 8.57). I think devs should really be looking at switching to GPL. roll

Post a feature request/bug report the mailing lists (http://www.archlinux.org/mailman/listinfo/) or on http://bugs.archlinux.org/, the devs don't have the time to read all forum threads so if you really want to make sure they hear you I'd suggest the mailing lists.

Yes, ESP and GPL ghostscript have been merged in  GPL Ghostscript 8.60 : http://www.cups.org/espgs/
I haven't had time to update the ghostscript package in current to the new merged version. I'll looked into it this week-end. Possibly it'll go in testing first.
