smileys

I think the default board smilies need a makeover.

big_smile  smile  sad  yikes   :?  8)  lol  :x  tongue      roll  wink  :!:  :?:

something in blue, perhaps... nice and simple, like arch?

Re: smileys

Those smily links are too complex. I think every one should be a light blue face (or dark blue for sad) in just two dimensions, flat colour... bah I can't describe it, I'll fire up gimp in a couple years when I have some time and draw my vision.

Re: smileys

The best thing about phpBB is that it gives you lots of things to hack. wink

I've been rather active lately at different forums, massive discussions about GPL, LGPL, BSD, CPL, QPL, MIT, communism, capitalism, patents ...and much more.
A few days ago Novell GPL'd Connector for Evolution and most people just was happy.
But one guy said something like this,"Oh nooo! One more good program lost to GPL hell."
Is it this sarah31 is talking about here?

Re: smileys

I sort of like how phpBB can be hacked, because it pretty much gives you the options on what you want to do with it, but that also leads to the utter annoyance of all the time it might take to double check code and such, especially if you've got several Mods installed. That's the side of me that prefers that everything could just be included, and you could turn on certain "plugins" that add features to the forum.
