A New Take on An Old Question: Opera Plugin for MPG, WMV?

Hi, I have just installed Arch 2007.08 (Dont Panic). I have loaded both Opera and Firefox. I find that mplayer-plugin works just fine with Firefox, but not at all with Opera (9.22). I have confirmed that Opera has the mozilla plugins directory on its plugins path, but it does not pick up or use the mplayer plugin that Firefox does.

I searched the topic here but there is nothing really recent, and a lot of it was around rebuilding things. I suspect that this is not needed, since there used to be a module called opera-mplayerplugin (no longer available via pacman) and there is clearly an intent for Opera to use mplayer-plugin.

Does anyone have Opera 9.22 using mplayer-plugin? I checked perhaps for gxine-plugin, but this also doesn't seem to be available any more.

Any and all pointers much appreciated!

Same as you.

It did not work with opera.
I tried opera-mplayerplugin from AUR but without gtk, you did not have the control play/stop/fullscreen etc...
