kernel panick w/usb wifi adaptor

I ran pacman -Syu last night and picked up the new kernel26-2.6.22.1-3 package. Everything updated OK, but on reboot I got a kernel panic concerning my ZD1201 based usb wireless adapter. I unplugged the adapter and everything booted OK.

This USB adapter has a module in the kernel ( ZD1201) but it also seems to requires some firmware files provided here:
http://linux-lc100020.sourceforge.net/
which I had, prior to installing 2.6.22.1-3, copied over to /lib/firmware

I tried removing those firmware files, and that stops the panic, but it also seems to disable the wireless adapter

So what should I do to resolve this? I can reproduce this kernel panic very easily (plug in the stick). Should I pursue this with the firmware developer? I'm also not sure what information the panic spits out that I should copy down....

Re: kernel panick w/usb wifi adaptor

I've got the same problem.
Maybe someone know how to deal with that issue.
