I have a SIIG 1394 ExpressCard, which works well with my laptop under Windows, but no dice with Linux.
I have the pciehp and pci_hotplug modules loaded, and the card shows up under lspci as a Texas Instruments PCI Express-to-PCI Bridge. But, the 1394 part of the card doesn't seem to show up anywhere, and gscanbus doesn't see anything connected to the firewire ports.
The laptop has a built in 1394 controller, but it's not compatible with a device I need. That controller works properly for other devices, though.
Is this a problem with having two 1394 controllers? The bios doesn't allow me to disable the onboard controller.
If others have used two 1394 controllers sucessfully, how did you do it. And if that's not the issue, can anyone venture a guess?
