Hi after 3 days searching and trying i ended up using enlightenment but i am an gnome user so
when i log into gnome i get this >
There was an error starting the GNOME Settings Daemon.
Some things, such as themes, sounds, or background settings may not work correctly.
The last error message was:
Process /usr/bin/gnome-settings-daemon exited with status 127
GNOME will still try to restart the Settings Daemon next time you log in.
my running daemons >
DAEMONS=(syslog-ng network netfs crond ntpd dbus hal gdm)
always gives that message with gdm on daemons or just typing startx with exec gnome-session
Important > during my first install of gdm +gnome +gnome-extras , gnome-session was not installed as dependencies ,i only noticed that after gtkpacman installation so i did a second gnome install and now gives me this error !
I noticed gtkpacman is not reliable and reinstalled everything with pacman -S!
When using another window manager like fluxbox or e17 if i run nautilus as root on terminal gdm starts on top of them!

Hi axept,
try to delete these folders in your home directory (you lose all the custom settings):
.gconf
.gconfd

Hi ,i did that before reinstalling gnome and again now ,still no chance .Even with another new user i got same error.
Maybe with a fresh install ?!
Damn...
Edit:
Ok ,i did a fresh install with gnome only ,and now it works but gives same message when i run gnome-control-center as root on terminal (there's no gui for it)!
i think there's a bug somewhere but i can live with it...
Thx.
