The subject is pretty much self-explanatory.
I installed Duke. Should I upgrade to Don't Panic? Or I will get the same effect if I just upgrade the packages regularly?

No. pacman -Syu will keep you up-to-date and if / when you reboot, you'll see your system listed as Arch (Don't Panic).

Thanks for replying.
That's just what I was hoping for.

The names ("Duke", "Don't Panic", etc..) are just the names of the installer. In theory, you could install with the Arch 0.1 CD, and update to the same system as everyone else (although it would be hard with changes like udev, kernels, initcpio, and other stuff - it'd be actually kind of interesting to see if someone could do it without banging their head against the desk too many times. )

Can you still get 0.1? If so that sounds like a good weekend project. Errr.... maybe a few weekends..:D

LOL - installing 0.1 would be cool indeed. Just imagine all the stuff that would happen after the first "pacman -Syu" ...
But I guess I would have to be extraordinarily drunk and extraordinarily bored at the same time to try that. If someone has the guts to do it: Please post a report.

I was going to try it - but none of the links for 0.1 that I tried are working

Well, for a POC project, you can start with a more recent release (the oldest that you can actually fetch). I'm sure it won't go smoothly, tho. I remember having trouble the first time I tried 0.7.2 > 0.8. The mkinitcpio or something, I forgot (I rarely install Arch these days).

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
