saving settings in KDE

Whenever I leave pigdin on when I shutdown, I start it up again and it makes a giant icon in the systray. I have my kicker configured for 2 lines of systray icons, but pidgin takes up the whole size. I usually remember to exit pidgin before I restart, but when I don't I have to exit and then start it again, and it's getting a little annoying.

Is there a blacklist for startup programs, so even if I leave it on accidently it wont automatically start when I log on?
