in arch, can we install krita without koffice?

Well... just that...
in arch, can we install krita without all the other apps of koffice?

Currently I want to try/use features in krita, not the other apps of koffice...

any idea?

I am currently using kdemod, but there is no kdemod package for it... neither for koffice, btw

Re: in arch, can we install krita without koffice?

If someone wants to split koffice and is willing to keep it maintained, we can host the packages + a svn repo for the PKGBUILDs on the server where KDEmod resides...

Splitting should be easy. Just check the output of configure, at some point it says "Checking if krita should be compiled" for example. At this point you can see every app/component that can be splitted into a single package.

To split koffice you need to set the DO_NOT_COMPILE shell variable. For KDEmod we split every single app but keep the libs/docs/shared things in a so called base package called kdetoys-base for example. Here is an example of a base package and an inherent splitted one.

If someone wants to do this, just contact me

Re: in arch, can we install krita without koffice?

(first: sorry for my english smile )

Funkyou  i can try to split koffice i see the example and is not hard, i splited Koffice for personal use one time for Slackware, the proposal follows still on?.

I have two questions to begin to prove:
* the package name  in the case of krita would be kdemod-koffice-krita ?
* the group would be kdemod-koffice?

Re: in arch, can we install krita without koffice?

Oh yea, thought i posted here. It was on my blog only.

Due to personal reasons, i couldn't complete the update. I'm in a lack of time, due to a critical situation with IBM Tivoli at work, which already lasts 3 month (called CritSit big_smile). Therefore, i'm working about 14-16 hours a day, providing IBM employees necessary information and access to our datacenter.

I've looked at the kdemod packages, and i'm thinking on adobting at least some of the packags.

I'm wondering why this works out, i've had problems with similar pkgbuilds with missing libraries. I've compared them, and there is no difference.

Anyway, expect me to do this. You can be sure, it can take up to a month, but 24th september to 05th of october i'm two weeks in vacation ... at home, with plenty of time.

Yours,
STi
