I'm using sonata+mpd. How do I get album covers to show up?

I think you do it manually, since with me it has never been able to fetch them automatically. Double click on the CD icon , select the Cover Art tab, right click on the CD icon and select either use local image or use remote image... I don't know any other way, that's why I ended up using Gmpc instead
Have you Syued today?

oddly enough after choosing one image for one album, all the others began appearing automatically...weird...

You don't have to set anything, just put a cover.jpg to corresponding album directory and Sonata will fetch it automatically. If no cover file is available, Sonata tries to fetch album images from Internet by default.
