Ok, I have a logitech cordless freedom (pretty much the same as the mouseman) and no matter what I do with xorg.conf, evdev, everything I've seen so far searching through the forums, My scroll wheel isn't generating any X - Events at least not though xev. I am really liking arch but I can't get this figured out and in other distros it has always worked.
I'm guessing that the problem is not in X but I have no idea what to do from here. Please help me out.

If you scroll wheel functions have been mapped to keyboard commands via xbindkeys, you will no longer see any xev events from the mapped mouse buttons. Check your home directory. If you have a file called ~/.xbindkeysrc, try moving it out of your home directory and restarting X. If this is the problem, xev will generate events again for the scroll wheel.
